Oak Cliff Nature Preserve now has 8 miles of trails which consists of 6 loops. The trails cross 2 creeks that runs through the property 14 times, including 5 wet water crossings. DORBA relies on volunteer labor to blaze new trails on their projects. The trail consists of a variety of open fields, and wooded areas. In the spring the feilds are wall to wall wildflowers.

They refer to these volunteer outings as work days. Work days typically occur on Saturday mornings where volunteers are asked to meet at the site around 8 am and choose a task. A recent work day saw 18 volunteers who used rakes, shovels, limb cutters, and other equipment to blaze 0.7 miles in one morning. Work days typically end around 11 and the group shares in some food and beverage before riding the trail. Anyone interested in helping to maintain the Oak Cliff Nature Preserve trail can contact Tex Maniac on this site.

To get there from Interstate 35E, take Illinois west, and just past S.Hampton make a left on Pierce. Go past the houses and black fence, turn left into the back of the apartment complex, and make a right at the gate (dirt drive). Look for the sign on the fence. On weekends overflow parking is done on the street. There is a trail head off the street as well.

I actually took care of that tree, 2 days ago, me and a friend pushed it out of the way.

Trail is awesome. I forget how awesome this place is. (Not to mention how freaking hot it gets with such heavy foliage) What's a decent time out there for all the loops? (on a mtn bike) Ran the whole thing today in 1:07:40. Quick question, are the white mile markers accurate for all loops? I was back on the 6.5 loop and didn't see a mile marker. Then once I was out I saw mile 7. Is 6.5 actually loop 6? Thanks for all the hardwork out there!!

Loop 6 starts right where you exit the trees of loop 5 and runs all the way to the hubb where the return half of loop 1 is.  6.5 is the tech part of loop 6.

loop distances are aprox only

parking to hubb- .93

loop 2 -1.35

loop 3 -1.16

loop 4 -1.81

loop 5- .58

loop 6- 1.49

hubb to parking- .93

Found some keys on the trail last weekend. Anyone have a good description to claim them?

Saw that today. I thought about trying to wrestle it far enough out of the way to make do but there`s a nice yellow jacket nest on one end, and bees of any kind make me an instant ninja (in the manner of high kicks and karate chops at seemingly thin air) so I left it be. It`s a big`un, though.

Went out and ripped this morning straight up moto style. Some of the turns are dry and dusty, warranting the foot down, flat out style. Fun, just can`t expect the soil to hold up if you`re going fast. I love this trail.

Rode one lap here after riding at Boulder this morning.  Trail here is also dry but solid.  Very hot when I started about 12:00 pm.
