Experience on Trinity Trail this morning
I couldn't wait any longer. I had to ride. I geared up and hit the Trinity Trail. About 30 seconds in with perfectly smooth boring to all hell riding, no dirt to speak of, no twisties, climbs or decents, I realized that road riding just SUCKS. Sorry to those that can tolerate it, but it was painfully mundane.
I keep at it just because I wanted to be outdoors a while. Another 10 minutes go by...a flat tube. I pull off the tire, check the inside and find a tack protruding through. What the hell? Take it out, new tube in...portable pump broken. I look up and wonder what I did to piss the big guy off. I get my tube up to about 20 psi and make my way home.
Is there anybody doing any work on some Funkytown trails? If so let me know and I'll head out to assist.
ride the gravel part of it, and ride up and down the levies, and enjoy the wind. the wind always funnels thru the river bottom.
Sometimes you're the windshield. Sometimes you're the bug.
my roommate lets me borrow his Roubaix when I want to get some miles on the Trinity, but it is so boring, I can barely stand it. I dont get road riding at all. Its ok and its better than running or sitting on the couch, but not by much
Go ride the cooper lake dam wall its a work out. Has some nice down hill slopes too.
this is DALLAS go to a constructon site and ride mud
While riding pavement you can discern the different grades of the gravel from large to very small. You can think of how many gravel truck trips it took to make the surface you are riding. You can appreciate the developments in road surfaces since wagons made deep ruts bringing the first settlers here. Riding roads and riding dirt is the same just different! It still kills butt cells so the next time you get back on it doesn't hurt!
if you're that close to Beach and I-30 go check out Gateway Park mountain bike trails, at least it's dirt not gravel..i know i'm going out there a few times this week.

Sounds like you are not passionate about riding. If your not happy being out doors with your butt on the saddle and feet on the pedals try a new sport.

Sounds like you don't appreciate the difference between road riding and mountain riding, and if you want to offer suggestions on road riding than you're on the wrong board.

Yeah, Trinity trails are useful for getting miles in and thats about it.
