Just a heads-up due to many inquiries we are getting. We are carefully watching the weather, rainfall amounts and forecasts to determine the potential ridability of BC on Feb 13. We are also preparing, if necessary, to move the race to a ridable venue if one is available on the 13th in the event BC is not, including the possibility of swapping dates with Johnson Branch. Appreciate your patience and understanding while we work hard at trying to bring you race #2 during all this inclement weather.
Rideable dirt, or a will it be on pavement? Don't really see what would be rideable unless it is moved to somewhere a lot further away like Solv. or Tyler.
Thanks for the info Bobby. Some trails dry faster than others.
We will try to find ridable dirt, not pavement, in the event BC is too wet on the 13th. I assure you we are well aware of what to expect and any remedies when planning winter mbike races.
Thanks for the update!
spin class for 6 hours with an odometer to determine the winner. just throw some dirt around them and have volunteers going around hanging the tension so it's like going p and down hills.
Sorry guys, but this is absolutely and completely unacceptable!
If you don't figure something out - like right now - I'm not paying a dime for this race, just like I didn't pay for the last one. You may say , "but you didn't race the last one, you idiot...". Oh that's right, change the subject and throw some names around why don't you. Pretty clever, but you can't fool me. Oh no, I've been around too long to fall for that one. The point is...well, I've forgotten the point, but that's beside the point. Wait, what was I saying? Oh yeah, thanks for keeping us updated, and I'll try to make it where ever it ends up.
Thank you guys for trying to accommodate the racers. Dorba is the bomb.
In the likely event that all trails are wet, is it possible to just move the event date instead of the trail to be ridden?
There is talk of pushing it back one week to the 20th if everything is wet on the 13th. That may be undoable for some but at least others may be able to make it....either way it is still better than canceling it all together.

word
Isle Du Bois seems to dry faster than a lot of other trails.
Right on. Our plan at this point is to head to what is dry enough and driest. IDB is definitely in the mix.

road trip to arizona.....
this is for sale and could be turned into a 16 mile underground trail.

I remember well when they built that thing.
I just registered for the race. If it is not going to be at Big Ceder on the 13th will I be able to get a refund if the alternative does not work for me? I still want to do the race, I just don't know if I will be able to drive to Johnson's Branch.
My vote is for pushing it back a week. Just sayin...
You can get a refund or apply your entry fee to the alternate race day and venue we end up with that works.
BC and JB are a no-go for the 13th. We will make the final decision regarding the race on Tues evening the 9th. Thanks for your patience.
Tyler????
bump the race up a week and cross your fingers
Updates??
With major regrets, but as you all know we had no choice. We will make up for it with a killer Johnson Branch Grand Finale. And a future race will be planned for Big Cedar. There will be training time prior to JB. Be ready.
I hate to hear the race was canceled, but I don't think anyone will be suprised, it is a mess out there. Can we apply the BC registration fee to JB, or what do we need to do.
Thanks again to everyone for their hard work on the series. See y'all at JB.
Yes Joel all BC pre-regs will automatically be moved to JB pre-regs. That includes volunteers too.

Yes, this. You all should have just received an email explaining this via BikeReg, from Bobby. Sorry for the delay, guys. See ya at JB!

unfortunately I can't volunteer at JB. I have to work that day. Wish I could be there - Boulder was a blast.
Thanks for update.
