Check out this GPS track and trail description.
Oak Cliff Nature Preserve now has 8 miles of trails which consists of 6 loops. The trails cross 2 creeks that runs through the property 14 times, including 5 wet water crossings. DORBA relies on volunteer labor to blaze new trails on their projects. The trail consists of a variety of open fields, and wooded areas. In the spring the feilds are wall to wall wildflowers.
They refer to these volunteer outings as work days. Work days typically occur on Saturday mornings where volunteers are asked to meet at the site around 8 am and choose a task. A recent work day saw 18 volunteers who used rakes, shovels, limb cutters, and other equipment to blaze 0.7 miles in one morning. Work days typically end around 11 and the group shares in some food and beverage before riding the trail.
Anyone interested in helping to maintain the Oak Cliff Nature Preserve trail can contact Tex Maniac on this site.
To get there from Interstate 35E, take Illinois west, and just past S.Hampton make a left on Pierce. Go past the houses and black fence, turn left into the back of the apartment complex, and make a right at the gate (dirt drive). Look for the sign on the fence. On weekends overflow parking is done on the street. There is a trail head off the street as well.

any chance it'll be rideable tomorrow (sunday)?
Come get some dirt, before it rains.........again.
ANyone even been out to take a look?
still open after the rain today?
did oak cliff get hit?
Just rode with my son. Trail is in very good shape. Mostly dry, tacky in places you`d expect it to be and very little mud (and only short sections where there is mud, and it`s not bad at all). I`ve seen the creek crossings much soggier even times when the trail is very dry. It was sprinkling a tiny bit as we were leaving, none of it was making it to the ground in the woods. If the rain gods are modest with the precipitation I`ll probably go back tomorrow.
Status: OPEN
Condition: We need tires on it.
Last User Report:
Muddy (don't bother)
that part had been there through 3 open/closed cycles for another trail. I guess not everyone is so studious about the updates
Did u not see the date and condition posted? That is a good indication of the status of the trail. U can always pm me, if u need more specific info.
I checked the trail on Tuesday at lunch....it was very muddy...and I abandoned all hope of riding off road for a few days.
But it did look like lots of people have been riding the trail, while it is muddy, as it is all trenched up with tire tracks....
ANyone even been out to take a look? If tomorrow and friday turn out how they`re supposed to it should be good to hit before the rain saturday, no?

I second that query...
